When I first arrived in Berlin, Germany, we immediately went to go explore the city. Although I was tired, I was so excited to be in this new country and I wanted to experience new things. We had a little bit of trouble trying to find somewhere to eat lunch. Either the waiters did not speak English or they did not have menus in English. We had a lot of free time in Germany so most days we walked around the city and went to see some of the memorials. After Germany we traveled by train to Ghent, Belgium. Ghent is a beautiful city and our hotel was right on the river. We ate a lot of Belgian waffles and Belgian chocolate, which I loved. Ghent was my favorite city. One night in Ghent we had a dinner with some of the students who were attending Ghent University. I really enjoyed getting to hear about their different experiences with school; some of them are even coming to Tuscaloosa to study abroad! On our last night in Ghent, their soccer team won their match so everyone was celebrating in the streets. Everyone was very nice and included us in the celebration. We traveled to London the next morning. While in London we did a lot of sight seeing. We took a trip to Stonehenge one day, which was amazing to see. We also go to go to an Aston Villa soccer match which we had a lot of fun at. We went to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Abbey Road, Buckingham Palace, and many other sights; we even tried fish and chips one day. I have gotten a few souvenirs to take home with me, but nothing can express how wonderful this experience has been. I wish I had more time abroad!
