This time tomorrow I will be settling in my dorm room in at London South Bank University. It’s always been a passion of mine to travel, and I’m so excited that I finally have the opportunity to live my dream. I picked London because it’s so historical and European while still feeling a bit like home and I don’t have to worry about a language barrier. I also figured it’s a good starting point for my first big trip outside of the country. From there I can travel to many different cities and countries on weekends! I just got done packing my 2 big suitcases and it was a challenge to not only fit everything, but make sure I didn’t go over the weight limit for my flight! It was hard leaving all my over-sized t-shirts and Nike shorts behind, since Londoners don’t embrace that southern trend. I also had to leave my bedding out since it was so bulky, so I’m planning on just buying that once I arrive. I’m nervous to be in a completely different country for 5 months and I’ll have to make new friends, but it makes me feel somewhat better that my friend from Alabama is also doing the same program at LSBU. I can’t wait to go on a red bus tour and see Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye, and Platform 9 ¾! However, I’m a bit directionally challenged so hopefully I’ll figure out the public transportation so I can do all my site-seeing!
