Back at home!

I’m suffering from some serious Italy withdrawals. I am so bored now that I am home. I must admit my view here cannot compete with my view from my apartment in Florence. I just miss the smells of fresh food and the water from the river. I also miss the pizza (I haven’t dared to eat a bite since I returned home). I am so grateful for the opportunity to study abroad.  I feel like a new person, I learned so much about myself...

You’ve Arrived- Now What?

So you’ve been preparing for months and now you are finally here, your study abroad location! Upon my arrival in Florence, Italy I found that the city could be slightly overwhelming. Finally after going to a few meetings at the absolute very last minute (3 months before departure) I found out...

Pre-departure jitters!

This study abroad trip was my first time out of the country and up until two days ago I wasn’t even sure I was going anymore. I am very nervous. I didn’t brush up on the Italian language enough so I’m afraid I will have trouble communicating. I know that this will be a tremendous opportunity and I know that studying abroad will give me exposure to a different culture that would be hard to get in America. My major is...

Coming to an End

As my month in Ireland comes to an end, I can’t help but to think back on all of the things I have seen and done. In only 30 days, I have traveled across the south portion of the Ireland, from Dublin to Galway. I have made so many new friends from all over the United States. The classes I am taking have been extremely busy but also enjoyable. The history portion of the course was great because we were able to travel to a few of...
