This is the second time I have studied abroad, the first being last summer in Rome. This time I am traveling to London, England, and Lisbon, Portugal, with a group from UA. Traveling last summer really gave me the itch to keep traveling as much as a I could, constantly searching for opportunities to go and experience new cultures. Spending most of my summer abroad last summer taught me so much about myself and the world. Up until that part, I hadn’t been out of the country. While I had been around the States a good amount, I still felt like I didn’t have a good sense of what the world was like (and I was 100% correct). Taking the chance to study abroad last summer knowing no one was insane looking back at it. The second I stepped off the plane in a foreign country, trying to navigate around and understand Italian showed me just how little I knew. Traveling throughout Italy, immersing myself in the culture, and saying yes to whatever opportunities came my way not only helped me fall in love with Italy, but it showed me how much I want travel to be a constant part of my life. I learned how to be independent and roll with the punches life throws at you when you’re alone. It was truly a rewarding experience. So, when I found out There was a 2-week experience in 2 more countries, I knew I had to take the chance. I’m so excited to see the new experiences and lessons I learn while I’m abroad this time!
