Today marks Day 4 of my Lead Abroad program in Barcelona, Spain. I have been loving this historic city and all of its wonderful treasures. Since arriving, we have done a city tour around the gothic quarter, visited Parc Guell and even embarked on a vineyard tour. The city tour was 2 hours long and we still hadn’t even seen a 1/4 of the city. Barcelona is a huge and rich city. They actually made a profit from hosting the Olympics in 1992 and it boosted the city in a multitude of ways. They poured all of that profit back into the city and that is why Barcelona is full of beautiful architecture and gorgeous sites. In the image above, I am standing in front of the Catedral de Barcelona. Yes, I definitely did mistake it for the famous La Sagrada Familia. Maybe that exemplifies the American in me, but I choose to believe it’s a common mistake. Thankfully in the Lead Abroad program we do have a La Sagrada Familia tour booked in the future. I hate to say it but selfishly I want to go not just for the church’s breathtaking exterior, but also because I have heard there is a Taco Bell around the corner. I guess you can take the girl out of America but never the America out of the girl. Overall, Spain has been all things good and the food is amazing even though sometimes I do crave Taco Bell. I would recommend this trip to everyone so far and I can’t wait to share more of this spectacular journey.
