HALFWAY POINT: This experience at the European Innovation Academy (EIA) has been nothing short of incredible! Although I was quite nervous entering this entrepreneurship competition, it has been amazing to discover all that I am capable of. On Day 0, I was thrilled to earn the title of CEO! Leading a team has been a profound learning experience, teaching me that I can guide a team through the business process while creating an environment that fosters creativity and growth. Our startup is thriving so far, and I’m excited to see how far we can go in the competition.
DISCOVERING PORTUGAL: Portugal is an absolutely stunning place! The people here are incredibly friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. On my first night out for dinner, my friend and I had a funny cultural mishap. We didn’t realize you need to request the check to pay for your meal, which led to a leisurely three-and-a-half-hour dinner! While we probably should have caught on sooner, it gave us plenty of time to catch up and enjoy the evening.
NEW Friends and NEW adventures: One of the highlights of this journey has been the friendships I’ve formed with fellow EIA participants from Canada, Brazil, and Portugal.
Since arriving I have had the chance to: ride the metro, try codfish (super popular here), sail on a boat, climb a bridge , explore Lisbon, Sintra, and Porto, and so much more!
GROWING WITH MENTORS: The mentors here at EIA have been phenomenal, pushing us to grow both personally and professionally. Their guidance has been invaluable, and I’m eager to apply their insights as we continue our journey.
