Finishing packing up for my faculty-led study abroad program to Worcester College in Oxfordshire, England, there a lot of emotions going through my mind. I chose this study abroad as it was one of the reasons I actually ended up choosing to attend the University of Alabama. I was really excited about the prospect of living and learning at one of the most historic academic institutions in the world. England has always fascinated me with their culture, and I’m thrilled to be able to experience it first hand. I’m really excited to study and explore internationally, everyone I’ve talked to about studying abroad says it is a transformative experience that you won’t forget for the rest of your life. I’m grateful that I already have a few friends that are also going on this same trip, so the transition will be a little smoother with them by my side. I have never travelled internationally without my family before, so this will be a unique experience in that accord. I really want to take the time to explore the cities ill be visiting: Oxford, London, Edinburgh, etc. Making sure I get out of my comfort zone is an important part of this trip for me. Personally, I am nervous about making sure I make the most of my time and do as much as possible while I am there. I want to really seize this opportunity. I’m counting down the days until I jet off across the pond and could not be more excited, Roll Tide!
