Hey Everyone!
My name is Taylor Schnorbus and I am a pre-medical Senior at UA in the STEM
Path to MBA program. In about an hour I will embark on flight 1 of 2 to Porto,
Portugal! I am participating in UA’s faculty-led study abroad program to
compete in the European Innovation Academy start-up competition (and get some
Global Business credit).
Currently, I am sitting in the airport awaiting my first-ever flight
as I make my way to Portugal! I made it through TSA, so far so good 😊
It has been a while since I have done anything so new before… which was one of
the reasons I was excited to Study Abroad. First time flying, first time
abroad, first UBER, and first time using my passport I’ve been holding onto
since freshman year. As of right now, I am filled with nervous anticipation.
Although, I think that nervousness will fade away once I make it to my
accommodations in Portugal! I think that the part of this trip I am most
looking forward to (if I had to pick one) would be having the opportunity to
work with people from all over the world to develop a company from scratch. I
wonder where my teammates will be from. I wonder what role I will fill on the
team (CEO, CMO, CFO??). Will our company be successful?
I am hopeful that this will be the first of many adventures I take and that
I will walk away from my time in Portugal with some amazing memories. I look
forward to seeing how this experience builds my confidence in myself and my own
capabilities within the business world. I also plan to come away with plenty of
photos from trips around Lisbon and the Douro Valley.
