For the first full month in Madrid, I met so many cool people and had so many great experiences. From walking around the city and interacting with locals, to trying new food and drinks, I would not have changed anything about it. For the second half of the first month, we went to the Prado, a world-famous art museum that featured so many recognizable artists. We also made our way to El Retiro, a park that is very similar to Central Park in New York City. There were many different paths to go explore and it would make a good place to go relax one day and suntan or go for a run. We also went to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium where Real Madrid plays their home games. There were also several Real Madrid soccer games being played while we were in Madrid, so it was a great experience being able to go to a local bar, watch the game, and experience the culture. It was sad saying goodbye to the UA students that were in Madrid for only the month of June, but I know that when I get back to campus I will still be able to see them and hangout. At the end of June, a group of us from session 1 and 2 went to Oporto, Portugal and the flight was only $30! It is surprisingly cheap to fly around Europe, so don’t be afraid to do it!
