For the last month in Madrid, I finally found the rhythm of things. I had found all of my favorites: restaurants and convenience stores were some of my favorite things, and I grew a lot closer with those that were in Madrid for session 2. We had a lot more free time this month to go around Madrid on our own. We got to explore and take weekend trips to nearby cities. I took Negocios and Literatura the second month and I really enjoyed both of those classes. I learned a lot and enjoyed taking them. At the end of the summer, I found my Spanish had improved greatly. I picked up on a lot of the lingo and felt so much more comfortable speaking to the locals. Being able to speak to others there and be comfortable doing so was great. It was really sad to leave Madrid, and I wished I could have stayed much longer. Session 1 & 2 felt like a good amount of time to study abroad. It may feel slow at certain points, (because not everything is as intense as the people who were in Madrid for just session 1) but there is so much free time to go explore the city, which I highly recommend doing. All-in-all, I would say the trip was amazing and I would not trade it for any other program.
