Hey y’all, this is going to be my last post about my travels within Spain. This past weekend I took a day trip with some of my fellow study abroad students to the great city of Barcelona. This was my first experience on the high-speed train that took us 400 miles in about 3 hours. We ended up visiting the famous landmarks such as La Sagrada Familia and Park Güell and took some amazing photos of those. The photos don’t even come close to capturing the beauty of those places. While visiting those places were cool, my favorite aspect of the trip was walking through the street with my new friends and seeing buildings/restaurants/streets that you do not see in the US.

When my program officially ended, I remained in Madrid. My mother came and met me at the airport in Madrid where I showed her around the wonderful city for a couple days. We then boarded the high speed train to south Spain, specifically Seville where we explored the city for a couple more days. Pictured here is La Plaza de España where scenes of the movie Star Wars: Attack of the Clones was filmed.

Lastly, my mother and I hopped in a car and took a beach vacation in the Algarve, a region of south Portugal. There we enjoyed the 4th of July on the beautiful beaches and took a boat ride through the Grottos, a formation of caves (pictured here). To finish off my European summer excursion, we took another car ride up to the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, where we partook in a walking food and drinks tour with people from Canada, the US, and Australia (what a weird mix of people!).

It has been a pleasure sharing my story and I hope you have a similar experience to mine in Europe.
