During my time in Florence, I have taken two amazing weekend the trips. On the first weekend, I traveled to Venice, Verona, and the Venetian Islands. On Friday, we spent the day in the Venetian Islands of Burano and Murano. In Murano, we attended a tour at the glass-blowing factory. This was such a cool experience, as Murano is famous for its glass-blowing artists. Our time in Burano was filled with walking around the town of bright colored homes, and a short lunch. Venice was my favorite stop of the weekend. The history of the city was amazing to hear, and taking a gondola on the Grand Canal was something I will never forget. In Verona on Sunday, we went on another walking tour, and even had a wine tour and tasting. This past weekend, my roommates and I took a two-day trip to Cinque Terre, which is a group of coastal towns on the west coast of Italy. Friday was spent in Monterosso, and we ate at a delicious restaurant with a view over the water. On Saturday, we had a boat excursion led by a local of the area. He took my friends and I to multiple swimming spots, and the water was super clear, perfect for seeing the many colorful fish. We traveled back to Florence Saturday night, and on Sunday morning, we took the train to the Viareggio beach. Overall, my travel experiences so far have been so much fun, and I am looking forward to my future trips to Rome and the Amalfi Coast!
