I felt like Barcelona became apart of me, it was extremely hard to say goodbye. I already miss it so much and I’ve been home for a day! I became so close with my roommates and my apartment and my life in Spain and I never thought I would love it this much. As I arrived in America I couldn’t believe that my time abroad was over. Before I came to Spain I heard from many people about how going abroad was a life changing experience but I never believed that could be true, until now. And now here I am telling people that it truly is! I feel like my experience abroad has changed me for the better and it has influenced my life in such a great way. Having to figure out your way around in a completely new country by yourself really opens your eyes, I have a lot more confidence in myself and am so grateful that I had the opportunity to see the world. I definitely felt reverse culture shock when I arrived in America. When I arrived at the airport there were plenty of water stations that were for free and in Spain water was a lot harder to get. Another thing was the amount of fast food places, I never saw more than one or two fast food places in Spain. I now spend more time smiling and being truly happy with my life, and I know that traveling is definitely in my future. I hope I get the opportunity to go back one day!
