I chose to study abroad in Australia to broaden my horizons in the world of international business. I think a lot of business for me can be done in an English-speaking country, and I thought this would a great place to learn more about a different consumer market and culture. I have also had Australia on a list of dream destinations for myself. I prepared to go abroad by making a packing list, and I checked the weather for my stay. I researched the climate and made sure I had attire for each day on the itinerary I was provided. It is winter in Australia while it is summer at home, so I wanted to be sure to pack everything I needed to stay warm.
I am very excited to go abroad, but I am a little bit nervous to travel to the other side of the world over the course of 28 hours. I cannot wait to experience the culture, people, and nature that is a part of the continent. I am most excited for a chance to meet with the World Bank and hear about their daily operations from leaders in the business world. I hope to learn a lot from different leaders in business through our time at LCI Melbourne where I will get the chance to hear from leaders in artificial intelligence, fashion, art, and a myriad of other industries. I cannot wait to experience the wildlife and natural wonders of the country like kangaroos, koalas, and the Great Barrier Reef. I have a profound interest in the Aboriginal culture, and I am excited to immerse myself in their way of life. The best way to learn about a new place is to through experiential learning, so I cannot wait to depart for my trip soon.
