Why Travel Abroad?
I decided to study abroad because I saw it as an exciting opportunity to broaden my horizons and immerse myself in different cultures. I knew that the summer after my freshman year was the perfect time to begin this adventure. I am determined to visit every continent before completing my college education. Traveling abroad in a foreign country is my first step and something I will remember for the rest of my life. For me, studying abroad is not only a chance for personal development but also an opportunity to adapt to a new environment. It will be my first time leaving America, so I am expecting a bit of a culture shock, but it shouldn't catch me completely off guard. To prepare for this trip, I have created a budget plan, researched locations, and packed ahead of time. From my experience, it's best to pack early because it can stress you out before your trip. Misplacing one thing can take up much of your time and make you miserable before your departure time. It's best to pack early and get a good night's rest before your flight, so you will have the energy to navigate the airport. Lastly, I am open to new experiences and prepared to learn as much as I can about French culture. My goal is to get out of my comfort zone while abroad. I will do this by adjusting to French social customs, trying new foods, and embracing everything that Paris has to offer.
