I had so much fun exploring Strasbourg during our day trip. Yes, my feet did hurt by the end of the day, but exploring France was worth it! I got to tour the city center via Segway and I climbed the 300+ steps to the top of the Notre Dame castle. I also just walked around Strasbourg and explored- and of course I had gelato! And some super tasty cheesecake! I also had an amazing lunch of pork puff pastry and pasta…wow! I love food and the French know how to make some great food! Deliciouso!!
Next, I got to visit Cologne which is filled with the wonder of Roman history and architecture! I toured the Roman-Germanic Museum and bought souvenirs there. Then, I ate at the McDonalds right by the Cologne Cathedral (which serves different food than McDonalds in the U.S. such as wings and guac hamburgers and curly fries). After dinner, I watched the sun set on the bank of the Rhine River. I got a lot of good pictures and had a lot of good experiences!
I also had a great time touring the Cologne cathedral and the treasury. The magnificent architecture was amazing. It took over 300 years for the cathedral to be completed. It is truly a work of art. I also enjoyed my nap today and doing some shopping. I then enjoyed a very tasty dinner of white asparagus soup, boiled pork knuckle, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes. Now I’m off to sleep to prepare for a very early morning and a long train ride to Hamburg tomorrow. I greatly enjoyed my last day in Cologne!
